MTOR and cancer: Activation of mTOR affects transcription of mRNA in a variety of physiological and pathologic pain states, including inflammatory and cancer pain [22–26], by phosphorylating downstream factors such as eukaryotic initiation factor 4E binding protein 1 (4E-BP1) and p70 ribosomal S6 protein kinase (p70S6K) and is reported to be involved in signal transduction through regulation of protein synthesis [27].
