CXCL10short and CXCL10long levels were highly correlated in the two patient groups (r2 = 0.81 and 0.68, p < 0.0001, Spearman), of note, the correlation revealed a significant difference in the regression slopes of TB patients (0.92 SE ± 0.11) compared to pneumonia patients (0.62 SE ± 0.04, p < 0.0001), suggesting that CXCL10 was more readily truncated to the short form in TB patients (Figure 2). Here, CXCL10 is linked to susceptibility to pneumonia measurement.
