In the original study describing the hemizygous model (Müller et al., 2005), both newly established lines showed ventricular hypertrophy (Tg2 strongly, Tg1 mildly), going along with an increased ventricular function in Tg1 (Tg2 could not be measured due to early mortality and breeding failure, as mentioned above). Here, TGM2 is linked to cardiac hypertrophy.
