AKT1 and hepatocellular carcinoma: In summary, we report a novel 2-phenyloxypyrimidine derivative E5 to induce apoptosis and autophagy via the inhibition of PDGFRα/PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling and the activation of MAPK/ERK pathway in HCC cells, providing further evidence to support the notion that PDGFRα could be a promising therapeutic target for HCC or other PDGFRα-induced diseases and also a new chemotype for class III RTKs inhibition.
