IL1B and ulcer disease: Recently, several investigations revealed some pharmacological effects of Mummy such as anti-inflammatory, promoting collagen production at wound site, bone fracture healing and protection of gastric mucosa against ethanol-induced ulcer.16,17 The molecular mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of Mummy in joint inflammation remains unclear, hence this study was designed to evaluate if Mummy can revoke degenerative effects of IL-1β on chondrocytes.
