Our results demonstrate that a triglyceride concentration of 280 mg/dL at any time point between 3 and 8 h after a meal has a good diagnostic performance in terms of sensitivity (84.6%), specificity (77.3%), and an AUC 0.820 to discriminate subjects with fasting hypertriglyceridemia (> 150 mg/dL) and serves a good estimator of abnormal apo-B concentrations, which makes it a useful marker of cardiovascular disease [20].
