The dyslipidemia etiologies included primary forms of hypertriglyceridemia (fasting TG > 150 mg/dL) (64%), familiar combined hyperlipidemia (1) LDL-c > 160 mg/dL and /or TG > 150 mg/dL + Apo-B concentrations >90th percentile for Mexican population + first-degree relative with hyperlipidemia) (34.9%) and hypoalphalipoproteinemia (HDL-c < 40 mg/dL ruling out secondary causes) (32.6%). The gene discussed is APOB; the disease is apolipoprotein A-I deficiency.
