The KEGG pathway enrichment showed that these DE genes were enriched in pathways of cellular processes, environmental information, organismal system, adherens junction, focal adhesion, regulation of actin cytoskeleton, signaling pathways regulating pluripotency of stem cells, ECM-receptor interaction, ErbB signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, estrogen signaling pathway, thyroid hormone signaling pathway, glioma, melanoma and proteoglycans in cancer (Fig. 3d and Additional file 8: Figure S6). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and central nervous system cancer.
