WAS is an X-linked disorder associated with eczema, increased susceptibility to infections, and heightened risk of autoimmune disorders (Thrasher, 2009), which is caused by mutations in Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (WASp) (Stewart et al., 1999) or in WASp-interacting protein (WIP) (Lanzi et al., 2012, Pfajfer et al., 2017). The gene discussed is WIPF1; the disease is Eczematoid dermatitis.
