CREBBP and colorectal carcinoma: Interestingly, multiple nuclear receptor ligands including all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and vitamin D, along with their associated nuclear receptors, are known to counteract abnormal Wnt/β-catenin signaling, for instance in colorectal carcinoma and other cell types [15], thus phenocopying the behavior of antagonists of the CBP/β-catenin interaction by competitive binding to the N-terminal region of CBP [1].
