Another Chaga-derived polyphenol, 3,4-dihydroxybenzalacetone, inhibited the NF-κB activation and NF-κB-dependent gene expression in a panel of human cancer cell lines through blockade of IκBalpha (a subunit of NF-kappaB) phosphorylation and inhibition of NF-κB activity followed by suppression of synthesis of TNF-induced and NF-κB-dependent proliferative, anti-apoptotic and pro-metastatic gene products.
