CHRD and polycystic kidney disease: The domain architecture of the human protein is conserved in B. floridae (Q0Q581_BRAFL), the domain architecture of the predicted sequence of the B. belcheri ortholog (Bb_056190F), however, is markedly different; it lacks two of the chordin (CHRD) domains, the C-terminal von Willebrand factor type C domain (VWC) domain is missing, the penultimate VWC domain is truncated, and the protein has a long C-terminal extension containing a polycystic kidney disease (PKD)_channel domain (Figure 5).
