Recently reports indicated that DPPA plays a critical role in regulating Bcl‐2 expression in a cell type‐dependent manner.8, 9 In addition, DPPA reportedly inhibits renal interstitial fibrosis in a rat diabetic nephropathy model.10 Our previous research demonstrated that DPPA inhibited tumour growth in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC), a basal‐like subtype breast cancer.11 Meanwhile, we showed that DPPA also decreased angiogenesis in tumour tissue.11 However, whether DPPA plays a direct or indirect role in angiogenesis requires further validation. The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is neoplasm.
