GPX1 and peripheral neuropathy: GPX1/rs1050450 has also been associated with risk of several diseases, including lung [31, 39], breast [8, 21, 34], and prostate cancer [3, 43]; peripheral neuropathy [45]; coronary heart diseases [26, 50]; septic shock [18]; and mortality [42], and correlation between GPX1 activity and serum selenium concentration has been reported for this polymorphism [16].
