In light of recent work showing that constitutive translation of Lamin B2 (also detected in our basal axonal nascent proteome; Table S3) supports axon maintenance and that the excessive axonal translation of the Activating transcription factor 4(Atf4) spreads Alzheimer’s disease pathology across the brain (Yoon et al., 2012, Baleriola et al., 2014), we investigated whether any of the axonal NSPs are linked to neurological disorders. Here, LMNB2 is linked to Alzheimer disease.
