In summary, results of the current study revealed that serum levels of ANGPTL8 were significantly increased in type 2 diabetic patients with subclinical atherosclerosis, moreover, our data provided the first evidence that ANGPTL8 was positively correlated with c-IMT in this population and TG partially mediated this positive correlation, suggesting ANGPTL8 to be a new biomarker for subclinical atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes. Here, ANGPTL8 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
