In three studies [23, 25, 26], for example, Abu-Farha et al., Crujeiras et al. and Liu et al. all found that circulating levels of ANGPTL8 were higher in participants with metabolic syndrome than those without, participants with higher ANGPTL8 levels experienced higher odds of having metabolic syndrome [23, 26]. The gene discussed is ANGPTL8; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
