CD58 is involved in intercellular adhesion between NK cells and tumour cells by binding to CD2 on NK cells22, suggesting that the anisomycin-mediated increase in CD58 and ICAM4 enhanced the strengthen immune synapse formation between NK cells and anisomycin treated HCC cells causing increased susceptibility of HCC cells to NK cell killing. The gene discussed is ICAM4; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
