Most importantly, we showed in the present work that downregulation of CD82 by siRNAs partially enhanced invasive capabilities of metastatic shPPFIA1 HNSCC cells in 3D collagen providing evidence on the interplay between liprin-α1 and CD82 which is most likely due to the regulative role of liprin-α1 in cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix contacts. The gene discussed is CD82; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
