Knockdown of liprin-α1 in HNSCC cells led to changes in regulation of cell substrate junctions, anchoring junctions (including ASAP3), regulation of vacuolar transport (including SORL1), phosphatase complex, and establishment or localization of proteins to membrane (including ANXA2, SMURF1), or endoplasmic reticulum. This evidence concerns the gene ANXA2 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
