Data have collectively indicated that the high level of HMGA2 could serve as a novel biomarker to evaluate the prognosis of patients with various cancers such as breast cancer (Wu J. et al., 2016), lung cancer (Di Cello et al., 2008), ovarian cancer (Mahajan et al., 2010), colorectal cancer (Wang et al., 2011), and gastric cancer (Lee et al., 2015).
