In addition to SYT1, many proteins involved in vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release (LIN7A, SCAMP1, STX3, SYP, SYT5, VAMP2‐4) showed altered binding to mutant CSPα, suggesting that the disease‐causing mutations might influence synaptic transmission in brains of ANCL patients. This evidence concerns the gene SCAMP1 and adult neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis.
