In addition to SYT1, many proteins involved in vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release (LIN7A, SCAMP1, STX3, SYP, SYT5, VAMP2‐4) showed altered binding to mutant CSPα, suggesting that the disease‐causing mutations might influence synaptic transmission in brains of ANCL patients. The gene discussed is STX3; the disease is adult neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis.
