MYD88 and Alzheimer disease: Here, we have demonstrated that TLR2 and MyD88 levels are upregulated in the CNS of patients with AD; that TLR2 and MyD88 are positively correlated with the Braak score, that WT TIDM peptide targets only TLR2 without modulating other signaling pathways; and that after intranasal administration, WT TIDM peptide reaches the hippocampus, suppresses hippocampal NF-κB activation, inhibits microglial inflammation, lowers cerebral plaque load, attenuates neuronal apoptosis, and protects learning and memory functions in Tg mice.
