The four proteins measured here have also been shown to be expressed in cells outside CNS or to be increased after orthopaedic trauma.[2, 44–46] Previously, H-FABP performance has been shown higher in isolated mTBI patients compared to those suffering from multiple traumas.[10] This suggests that at least a part of the H-FABP measured originate from the CNS. This evidence concerns the gene FABP3 and concussion.
