The PPAR‐γ agonist thiazolidinedione (TZD) was shown to improve peripheral insulin sensitivity and clearance of TGs in type 2 diabetes (Mayerson et al, 2002), while ameliorating murine polymicrobial sepsis by reducing the pro‐inflammatory signal transducer and activator of transcription‐1 (STAT‐1) signaling pathway (Ferreira et al, 2014). This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and Sepsis.
