Dysregulation of members of the TCF/LEF family of transcription factors has been observed in both colon cancer cell lines, and colon cancer tumors [1,9], and there is indication that the TCF/LEF family of transcription factors work in distinct and opposing roles to maintain the equilibrium between epithelial cell proliferation and terminal differentiation in normal colonic epithelium. Here, HNF4A is linked to malignant colon neoplasm.
