Sema3A mitigates bone loss by decreasing osteoclastic bone resorption and increasing osteoblastic bone formation in an ovariectomized mouse model of postmenopausal osteoporosis, and Sema3a suppresses osteoclastogenesis and promotes osteoblastogenesis in cultured cells in vitro [16, 24].
