In osteoarthritis, bone tissue had low Plexin-B1 expression compared to age- and gender-matched cadaveric control bones, indicating that the loss of Sema4D/Plexin-B1 inhibition of osteoblast activity may lead to an increased bone volume fraction and decreased bone matrix mineralization, contributing to osteoarthritis (42). Here, SEMA4D is linked to osteoarthritis.
