Finally, integrating our data into the general pathway of “Central carbon metabolism in cancer” (http://www.genome.jp/kegg-bin/show_pathway?hsa05230) highlighted several genes that were up-regulated by the (lovastatin + docetaxel) treatment, including the ACLY, ERBB2, GCK, MYC, PKFB2, SLC1A5, SLC7A5, and the SLC16A3 genes, together with several modified metabolites identified by one or more platforms, such as amino acids, citrate, lactate, fumarate, 2-oxoglutarate or succinate. Here, SLC1A5 is linked to cancer.
