Although cisplatin could simultaneously upregulate YY1 protein expression and AKT phosphorylation (S473 and T308) in a time- and dose-dependent manner, knockdown of YY1 blocked cisplatin-induced AKT phosphorylation (S473 and T308) and correspondingly sensitized CAL27 cells to cisplatin in vitro and their xenograft tumor to cisplatin in vivo. The gene discussed is YY1; the disease is neoplasm.
