Stratifying by age group, anti-α-Gal IgM correlated with less risk of clinical malaria in infants (0.24 [0.1–0.52], p < 0.001), and anti-α-Gal IgG3 (0.02 [0; 0.18], p = 0.002) and IgG4 (0.01 [0; 0.18], p = 0.003) in children (Table 5). The gene discussed is CD40LG; the disease is malaria.
