Whereas additional studies are warranted to validate these intriguing findings and hypotheses, the consensus emerging from all of these studies is that CaMKK2 is a key effector of AR signaling in PCa cells, regulating cell cycle by stabilizing AR, cell migration through AMPK signaling, and glycolysis by activating the AMPK–PFK pathway. Here, CAMKK2 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
