In this regard, a recent study of Du et al. (2016) demonstrated that genistein-27, a derivative of isoflavone genistein was able to inhibit the proliferation of human colorectal cancer cells by reducing β-catenin nuclear localization and by increasing the expression of AXIN2 and APC (adenomatous polyposis coli) [37]. This evidence concerns the gene AXIN2 and colorectal cancer.
