APOE and familial hypercholesterolemia: As compared to APOE ε4 non-carriers (Table 1), APOE ε4 carriers had a lower BMI (25.6 vs. 25.9 kg/m2, P = 0.048), a higher frequency of MCI (21.7% vs. 15.4%, P = 0.001) and hypercholesterolemia (57.5% vs. 52.7%, P = 0.014), together with lower CERAD memory scores (69.4 vs. 72.3, P < 0.001) and fewer years to censoring (5.6 vs. 6.0 years, P = 0.021).
