Human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissue showed increased mRNA levels of the gene involved in FAO and glucose metabolism, among which PPARα, carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1A (CPT1A is the rate-limiting enzyme of FAO), glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (G3PDH), and the upregulation of cyclin D1 mRNA. This evidence concerns the gene CCND1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
