PPARα activation and tumor suppression was reported in melanoma [79] and glioblastoma [80]; on the other hand, PPARα activation demonstrated a positive role in stimulating the proliferation of breast and renal carcinoma cell lines [81,82], while PPARα-null mice were insensitive to hepatic carcinogenesis induced by PPARα agonist [83].
