HSRCC belongs to diffuse type of gastric cancer, and consistently has low mutation rate, high frequency of TP53 alterations3,7,11,12, foci deletion in FHIT, amplifications of multiple oncogenes (e.g., FGFR2, CD44, and CCNE1), and enriched mutations in cell adhesion-related genes12. This evidence concerns the gene FGFR2 and gastric cancer.
