The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the presence of CAC increased when ECW/TBW was added to the basic clinical model consisting of age; sex; waist‐to‐hip ratio; hypertension; diabetes mellitus; cardiovascular disease; smoking status; pulse pressure; eGFR; hemoglobin, low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, albumin, calcium, and phosphate levels; and use of lipid‐lowering agents, antithrombotic agents, and phosphate binders (0.757 versus 0.767, P=0.001) (Figure 4).
