Post translational modifications of FOXO1 following ischemia that result in nuclear translocation and activation following ischemia have been well described in the mouse and rat cardiomyocytes [17, 36, 37] and in H9c2 cells [38], but also in the mouse liver [39], [17, 36, 37] and in gerbil and mouse neurons [38, 40]. The gene discussed is FOXO1; the disease is ischemia.
