HAMP and type 1 diabetes mellitus: Analysis of biochemical parameters revealed higher hepcidin (0.25 (95% Cl 0.20, 0.29) versus 0.12 (95% Cl 0.10, 0.14) p < 0.001) and vitamin B12 concentrations (459 (95% Cl 419, 500) versus 397 (95% Cl 356, 437) p < 0.01) as well as significantly lower TIBC values (59.09 (95% Cl 57.51, 60.67) versus 68.15 (95% Cl 65.29, 71.02) p < 0.001) in T1D patients (Table 1).
