ATF4 and rheumatoid arthritis: Based on reports that MED13L is involved in Wnt, FGF, Rb/E2F and ATF4 related pathways that play critical roles in lymphocyte development and function, in addition to inflammatory responses (Ameri and Harris 2008; Asadollahi et al. 2017; Clevers and Nusse 2012; Hutcheson et al. 2015; Kitajima and Takahashi 2017; Markey et al. 2007; Staal et al. 2008; Tomppo et al. 2012; van Amerongen and Nusse 2009; Zhang et al. 2013), we studied Med13L polymorphisms in the context of immune cell activation and pathogenesis of RA, a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disorder.
