Many of the ALS genes encode proteins that are associated with SGs, such as Profilin-1, hnRNPA1/A2, fused in sarcoma (FUS), T cell-restricted intracellular antigen-1 (TIA1), and TDP-43, several of which are also linked to FTD [135, 142–147]. The gene discussed is FUS; the disease is amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
