Imatinib down-regulated the expression of Upa, Tpa and Protein S and up-regulated Serpina1 and Protein C. This analysis demonstrates that among the three anti-CML drugs investigated ponatinib most prominently induces adverse alterations in the gene expression of coagulation factors in both the intrinsic and extrinsic pathway, which may lead to a state of hypercoagulability. This evidence concerns the gene PROS1 and thrombophilia.
