Large cohort studies for intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorders both have identified loss-of-function (LOF) mutations in GRIN2B that cause a severe neurological phenotype of broad spectrum (Endele et al., 2010, O'Roak et al., 2011), a result supported by several case reports (Dimassi et al., 2013, Freunscht et al., 2013, Hu et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene GRIN2B and Intellectual disability.
