Additionally, the genes MEF2C and CELF1, identified by genome-wide association studies as having a small effect on AD risk [11], were inferred as MEF2A and YY1 targets, respectively (data not shown), which reinforces the idea that these genes are part of a broad and complex context and that to discuss their roles in the whole scenario could be a much more constructive approach.
