A lead first-in-class chiral molecule, PH46A, 6-(methylamino)hexane-1,2,3,4,5-pentanol-4-(((1S,2S)-1-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H,1′H-[2,2-biinden]-2-yl)methyl)benzoate [7,8], has been shown to have a therapeutic effect in two different well-established preclinical models of murine colitis: the acute dextran sodium sulphate model and the chronic and spontaneous Interleukin-10 (IL-10−/−) knock-out mouse model. This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and colitis.
