This study revealed that AST and ALT activities in serum were significantly lower in the COSTC group at a dose of 600 and 300 mg/kg/d than in rats in the HF group (p < 0.05, Fig. 4f–g), suggesting that COSTC has no toxicity to the liver function and minimizes the damage resulting from high-fat diet.
