Indeed, deletion of LepRb in vGat (Slc32a1)-expressing GABAergic neurons (representing ∼50% of hypothalamic LepRb neurons, including the majority of LepRb neurons in the DMH and LHA, along with AgRP cells and other ARC neurons) or Nos1 neurons (representing ∼25% of hypothalamic LepRb neurons, including the majority of PMv neurons plus smaller numbers of LepRb cells in the ARC, DMH, VMN and LHA) promotes dramatic obesity [12], [13].
