ADORA2B and pulmonary fibrosis: Regarding the ADORA2B mediated mechanisms, our data showed that activation of ADORA2B in PASMCs leads to increased levels of IL-6 and hyaluronan, two mediators that have been associated in the pathophysiology of lung fibrosis and PH (Karmouty-Quintana et al., 2012, 2015; Chen et al., 2016; Collum et al., 2017b).
