Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) belongs to the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) super-family, which has a close relationship with the development of many human cancers (Hynes and Lane, 2005), especially in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC; Suzuki et al., 2005; Ellis et al., 2009; Rosell et al., 2009), thus making it an important anticancer target. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
