Finally, to find out whether HMGA2 downregulation or ALOX5 upregulation can also be observed in other types of drug‐resistant cells, we searched the GEO database (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/geo/), and found that HMGA2 is downregulated in erlotinib‐resistant head and neck squamous cell carcinoma cells in GSE62061 dataset (Figure 7A), while ALOX5 upregulation is found in paclitaxel‐resistant MDA‐MB‐231 breast cancer cells (Figure 7B), indicating there may be common mechanisms of drug resistance in these cases. This evidence concerns the gene HMGA2 and breast cancer.
