Detailed analysis of this dataset and other previously reported datasets highlighted 18 statistically significant mutated genes including TP53, KRAS, EGFR, BRAF, PIK3CA, MET, RIT1, STK11, KEAP1, NF1, RB1, CDKN2A, SETD2, ARID1A, SMARCA4, RBM10, U2AF1 and MGA. This landmark report highlights the molecular heterogeneity of lung adenocarcinoma and prompts the need for further studies in sub-groups of NSCLC. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
