GLP1R and familial pancreatic carcinoma: Evaluation of the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System database showed a 10- and 2-fold increased risk of pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer respectively in patients treated with the GLP-1 receptor agonist exenatide in comparison to those receiving other anti-diabetic drugs, which raised a pancreatic safety concern about GLP-1-based therapies [26].
