MALAT1 and cardiovascular disorder: Using genetically manipulated animal model and antisense LNA GapmeRs, our present findings suggest that Malat1 regulates post-ischemic angiogenesis via interaction with VEGFR2. The findings will lead us to better understand the mechanisms of LncRNA-mediated regulation of angiogenesis and establish a human translational basis for the development of novel restorative therapy to enhance functional recovery following ischemic cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases.
